The Story Behind the Name: Why "Monkeys' Uncle 3D"?

People always ask me where the name Monkeys' Uncle 3D came from. Did it come from the old saying, "Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle!"?

Well, kind of—but with a very literal twist. I am the incredibly proud uncle to five amazing, high-energy, wonderfully chaotic nephews. 

If you’ve ever spent more than five minutes around five young boys, you know that "nephews" is just a polite word for a pack of wild monkeys. They are constantly climbing, jumping, building, and swinging from the metaphorical ceilings.

So, when it came time to name my 3D printing business, the math was simple: 5 wild monkeys + 1 proud uncle = Monkeys' Uncles 3D.

Just like my nephews, 3D printing is all about building things from scratch, letting imagination run wild, and pushing boundaries. This business is fueled by that same playful, creative energy. We take wild ideas and bring them into the third dimension—no monkey business required!
