Whether you are a hardware startup looking for functional prototypes or a hobbyist dreaming up a custom heirloom, we know you probably have some questions. Here are answers to some of the most common questions we get about 3D printing and our manufacturing capabilities:

How do I choose the best filament for my project? 

Choosing the right material comes down to a few key factors:

Purpose: If your part is a visual model, PLA is usually the best choice.  If it requires mechanical strength, toughness, or impact resistance, we recommend PETG, Nylon, or Carbon Fiber blends.

Environment: If your part will be exposed to high heat, Polycarbonate (PC) or ABS is ideal. If it will live outdoors, ASA provides excellent weather and UV resistance. For high moisture environments, PETG and Polypropylene (PP) are fantastic due to their low moisture absorption.

Post-Processing: If you need a perfectly smooth, injection-mold-like finish, ABS is great because it can be vapor-smoothed with acetone.

PLA vs. PETG: Which should I use? 

PLA is the easiest choice for highly detailed, aesthetic models, educational prints, and decorative objects where structural strength is not the priority. PETG is a better choice for durable, functional products that will be exposed to stress, moderate heat, or outdoor elements.

Can you print highly detailed miniatures or small models? 

Absolutely. Achieving "bananas detail" is our specialty. For intricate miniatures, figurines, and architectural models, we utilize PLA filament and swap our hardware to smaller nozzle sizes, typically between 0.2 mm and 0.4 mm. We stock all available hotend sizes for our equipment to accommodate these requests. We also print these items at much slower speeds to ensure absolute precision and crisp edges.
